PAFSE at the 3rd Junior High School of Palaio Faliro (Attica, Greece)
On May 9th, 2023, Mr. Alexandros Vontas, Dr of Virology from the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Thessaly, and head of the Laboratory of Molecular Diagnosis of Viruses, delivered a lecture to the 2nd-grade students of the 3rd Junior High School of Palaio Faliro in Attica, Greece on the topic: “How diseases are transmitted from animals to humans and vice versa”.
Following the lecture, students presented their research findings to their fellow classmates and parents. Their research, which was based on a questionnaire they prepared themselves, was conducted within the framework of the scenario “Social determinants of health during epidemic/pandemic outbreak”, under the guidance of their teachers, Mr. Ilias Plakokephalos and Mr. Aristides Oikonomou.
