PAFSE organizes the “Digital Learning Objects for inquiry-based learning in public health”
PAFSE members D. Chalkidis, G. Iatraki, P. Gaintatzis, and T. A. Mikropoulos organized the “Digital Learning Objects for inquiry-based learning in public health” workshop at the 13th National Conference “Science Education and New Technologies in Education”, 10/12.11.2023.
The workshop attended secondary teachers, educators, and researchers from general and special education. Its aim was to familiarize the attendees with the Digital Learning Objects and suggest its contextualization within the inquiry-based learning framework. The instructional models and techniques applied during the workshop were structured and guided inquiry, argumentation, problem solving, decision-making, etc. The dynamic and interactive Digital Learning Objects used were simulations, visualizations, concept maps, maps, timelines, environments of critical appraisal of sources, etc. The Digital Learning Objects offer multiple dynamic representations of natural phenomena, highlight transdisciplinary topics and the use of Mathematics in Science.
