PAFSE first openschooling event @ Escola Secundária Luís de Freitas Branco
PAFSE European Project, coordinated by Escola Nacional de Saúde Pública, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, held the first openschooling event in Escola Secundária Luís de Freitas Branco. The event was attended by students, teachers, parents, enterprises, representatives of the Oeiras City Council, Ministry of Education and Health.
Students from the 8th and 9th grade presented their learnings , research projects and proposals aiming to benefit the health and wellbeing of the community. The topics of the projects were zoonosis, epidemics , socioenvironmental determinants of health, sustainable development goals, chronic diseases.
Doctor Ana Rita Constante presented the challenges faced by people living with chronic respiratory disease and the multi-award-winning startup eBreathie.
The governmental representatives strengthened the interest of the initiative, the relevance of the open schooling model for the education of pupils and availability to partner on the evidence-based proposals made by students during the event.
